On a free canvas, select several widgets and the selection draws a box with its own handles. Drag one handle and every widget scales together — including the gaps between them — so the arrangement keeps its shape.

Shrinking stops when the first widget reaches its own minimum size, so one widget is not squashed past readable while the others still have room.
